One-click invoicing with Power Query - demo files
=================================================

DEMO - SYNTHETIC DATA. Every organization, program, person and amount in these files is fictional.

Files
  invoice-pq-demo.xlsx the invoicing workbook (Power Query, no macros)
  general_ledger.csv     company-wide general ledger report export (Jul 2025 - Mar 2026)
  labor_detail.csv central labor cost export (hours x pay rate + benefits)

Try it (Excel for Microsoft 365 or Excel 2021 on Windows)
  1. Unzip. Keep the three files together in one folder.
  2. Open invoice-pq-demo.xlsx. Click Enable Editing, then Enable Content if Excel asks
     (files downloaded from the internet open in Protected View with data connections off).
  3. Data > Refresh All.
  4. Register tab: 25 invoices, each one marked Ties (amount printed = billable GL, labor detail = payroll in the GL,
     no lines without a budget, no lines past the invoice's 12 rows).
  5. Invoice tab: choose a program in the yellow cell F6 to see that program's invoice.

If the refresh says it cannot find the file, the "Data folder" on the Start here tab still holds an old
folder. Press F9 (or type the folder that holds the CSVs into that cell) and Refresh All again.

To simulate next month: replace the two CSVs with new exports under the same names, then Refresh All.
